ASD Market Week opened today! Here are the must-see events and new developments on the show floor from Day 1! Products you may have missed, Source Direct’s Opening Ceremony, Independent Retailer Conference, and retail marketing tips.

Source Direct’s Opening Ceremony – South Hall Lower Level

SourceDirect at ASD Market Week, which connects international manufacturing suppliers with domestic importers and distributors, kicked off in grand style this morning with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony.  Source Direct makes it easier than ever for our attendees to find the perfect suppliers.

Helping to celebrate the start of the show, Karalynn Sprouse – ASD Market Week’s Executive Vice President – welcomed exhibitors, retailers, and ASD’s management team by cutting a celebratory ribbon to kick off the next four days of ASD Market Week. Remember: Source Direct is now in the South Hall, Lower Level.

Merchandise and Vendor Trends from Day 1 – Do Pay These Vendors a Visit

From spooky styles to sequins, here are the top fashion, accessories, gift, and novelty product trends spotted on Day 1 of ASD Market Week. So many trends, so little time!

Papyrus, Hallmark, Designer Greetings

We saw 3 of the largest greeting card and paper companies at ASD Market Week for the 1st time EVER. Analog (i.e. personal) communication is definitely trending!

Papyrus-Recycled Greetings (owned by American Greetings) – Booth N1518

Hallmark Gold Crown – Booth N1543 (main floor) and N110 (private, for Hallmark Gold Retailers only)

Designer Greetings – Booth SU2627

Start-up Arena – North Hall

A curated selection of exhibitors who have already been featured on ABC’s “Shark Tank” (so they already have some serious visibility!). We paid these “battle-hardened” vendors a visit to look at their top-notch selection of Gift, Toy, Home, and Novelties. Spotted: Eco Nuts Organic Cleaning Products.

Culture + at ASD – South Hall, Lower Level

This new show within a show is all about HIGHER margins. Much higher.
